Greenport founder and President William D. Griffing realized his vision to help others plan to live well when he started the business in 1989. An Ohio State graduate, a CPA (inactive), a former audit supervisor for Ernst & Young and a former vice president of finance for Malone University, Bill puts his extensive financial experience to work for all Greenport clients.
Although Bill gives much of his energies to Greenport, his personal priorities include husband, father, grandfather and community leader. A lifelong resident of Stark County, Bill resides in Canton with his wife of over 40 years, Patricia. He is a long-standing member of the Rotary Club of Canton where he has served as trustee and endowment committee chair. He has served on the governing boards of numerous other charitable and civic organizations throughout his career, including Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, Guardian Support Services, The Arc of Stark County and Friends of Fort Laurens Foundation, Inc. Currently, Bill is a trustee of the Canton Symphony Orchestra where he chairs the planned giving committee.
